Contentus sit monachus! (RB 7,49)

God in his universal salvation plan, has freely distributed his gifts for the edification of the Body of Christ.

Since the beginnings of the Church, among these gifts is monastic life, born in the call to an absolute consecration to God in prayer, ascetism and fraternity.

This life is a sign, useless, free and unnecessary, which also acts as a call to all believers.

...And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. (Mc 12,42)

The monks know they are worthless. They, devoted to the listening of the Word, steady in the community, eager on the job, separated and yet in communion with all, propose the characteristics of their common baptismal vocation.

The monk community, following the Gospel in a drastic way (RB Prol 21) aims at disclosing and proposing the eschatological dimension of the Trinity Mystery that is complete communion with God and the brothers.
