The ordinary time
The ordinary time (tempo per annum) is the time when the mystery of Christ , through the Holy Spirit, is called to penetrate, history progressively, orienting it eschatologically, until Christ will be completely in us (Col.3,11).
It is the time of discipleship and deepening of the faith that we are asked to live in our communities so that the Christological mystery celebrated at Christmas time and Easter time vivifies everyday life.
Both on Sunday and weekday the reading of the synoptic Gospel is offered in a continuous and integral way in order to make us face again the deeds and teachings of Jesus Christ and to help us follow his path day after day, until the final goal, described in the last Sunday of the liturgical year, before Advent :the celebration of Jesus Christ Lord of creation.
